I wanted to introduce myself to you and let you know a few fun facts about me that you might not be aware of. I share some of my life on Tiktok, Instagram, and Youtube. I consider it essential to establish a relationship with my community so that you may get to know the person behind the posts. Plus, I like reading and watching others “get to know me” blogs and/or videos.
Here are 12 facts about me!
- Recently graduated with my Master of Social Work in a concentration of mental health and substance abuse from University of Texas at Arlington. I never thought I would be capable of starting my masters, better yet completing it. I gradated at Globe Life Field in Arlington in December 2022.
- Law & Order SVU is my favorite. I can rewatch episodes I have seen a dozen times, like it was my first time watching. Fun fact, I wanted to be a detective because of Olivia. I left high school thinking I was going to be a detective, well that didn’t happen.
- I am an only child. I was born and raised in Athens, GA. It is a small college town. In 2015, I relocated to the Atlanta area because I knew I was bigger than my small city of Athens.
- Fun fact, I moved to Texas in 2018. I transferred my job and moved 853 miles from everyone and everything I have ever known. I’m so proud, I had the courage to move to a new state. I knew nothing about Texas prior to moving here.
- Wings are my favorite food. I can literally eat chicken every day.
- When I moved to Texas, I became OBSESSED with Whataburger. Thanks to that obsession, I gained a few, well a lot of pounds ha. Now, I am fighting for them to bring back the jalapeño cheddar biscuits.
- I have 6 tattoos. My first tattoo, I got at the age of 16, I believe. My favorite tattoo is the one located on my left wrist. It reads “I am enough.” When getting it, the tattoo artist stated, “but no one can read it, it will be upside down.” I responded, “that’s the point.” It is facing me because I am the one who needs to read it the most, then others. Many times, throughout my life I didn’t think I was enough. Enough to my family, enough to significant others in the past and ultimately just having self-doubt.
- One goal is to publish a book or do a TedTalk. I think my past could help and inspire others to keep going even when life seems hard. Plus, growing up biracial in early 1990’s and 2000’s it wasn’t common. So, for now I will start sharing my thoughts and passion right here on the blog.
- My zodiac sign is a Leo. When people get to know me, they say my zodiac signs fits me!
- I was informed that I have fertility issues in 2022. We were prepared to begin trying to establish a family, so this was heartbreaking. Currently I am under care of a fertility specialist. I hope to open up about our journey here but for now you can watch it on tiktok! Click here to follow me!
- Top fact, most people know about me! I am a HUGE college football fan. You could probably guess which team (check fact 3)! I am a diehard, Georgia Bulldawgs fan. BACK TO BACK NATTY, national championships. I grew up in Athens, so it is all I know. Prior to moving to Texas, I would watch the Atlanta Falcons. Due to marriage, I watch the Cowboys hahah! Yes, I know sports, rules, penalties and all.
- I love to travel and experience new places. It can be locally, domestic, or international experiences. Prior to 2020, I was taking an international trip with a friend every year. We wanted to experience new places while enjoying each other since I moved to Texas. Colorado and London may have been my favorite travel destinations. I went on those trips with my hubby. We actually eloped in Colorado, just the two of us Watch here!
