Okay, Let me speak! ha
I am originally from Georgia, a true southern lady. I was born and raised in Athens, GA. Many of you might be familiar with the city because of the 2021 & 2022 college football national champions, Georgia Bulldogs (UGA). Yes, I am a die-hard fan. Gooooo Dawgs sick’em.I am an only child.
Growing up, I always wish to have siblings. Yet, I had several cousins in my age group so, I never really felt alone. Growing up, I faced challenges of self-identity since I am biracial (black & white). While coping with not fully being accepted by others. I was either “not black enough or white enough” to fit in with some individuals. Yet, that is a story for a blog post, stay tuned.
Due to my challenges, I have always wanted to share “My Story” to help someone else in a similar situation. I want to share, the highs and lows, good and bad!
Now to the present day: I have been in DFW since 2018. I moved after living in Atlanta for 3 years looking to relocate in a new area/state. Within, 5 months of being in Texas, I met my (now) Husband. We eloped in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado on October 15th, 2021. We built a home in 2020, when the world was going crazy. Let’s say, if your relationship survives a home build, you can survive anything! LolNever be defined by your past. It was only meant to be a lesson, not a life sentence.

I love you, Ryan.
Recently, I graduated with my master’s in social work. Never thought my college career would lead me here. Before starting my program, I often told people “I wasn’t smart enough to pursue my master’s!” yet, here I am a few months out until graduation. Amazing what can change in a couple of years.
