My husband’s grandmother gave us the recipe for this flavorful pound cake. From what he has told me and herself, baking and cooking is something she loved. She trusted me with her recipe to make for my first Christmas with my husband’s family when we first dated. After recently making it, his grandmother told me, I made it ALMOST as good as her. That means a lot.
I have always enjoyed baking since I was younger. So, it was an honor to have a recipe and to make it just like her.

- 1 Bundt Cake Pan
- 1 Kitchen Aid Mixer Alternative: hand mixer
Ingredients
Cake Mixer
- 1 Cup Butter Room Temp (Optional)
- ½ Cup Vegetable Oil
- 5 Eggs Room Temp (Optional)
- 3 Cups White Sugar
- 3 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- ½ Tsp Baking Powder
- ½ Tsp Salt
- 1 Cup Milk
- 1 Tsp Coconut extract
- 1 Tsp Butter Flavoring
- 1 Tsp Rum extract
- 1 Tsp Lemon extract
- 1 Tsp Vanilla extract
Glaze
- 1 Cup Sugar
- ½ Cup Water
- 1 Tsp Coconut extract
- 1 Tsp Butter flavoring
- 1 Tsp Rum extract
- 1 Tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 Tsp Almond extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.Grease and flour Bundt pan.
- Sift the flour with the baking powder and salt.
- In a bowl or stand mixer, cream butter, oil and sugar until fluffy.Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in flour mixture alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix well.Stir in 1 teaspoon each of extracts and flavoring.Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until done. Check cake after 1 hour with a toothpick. A little left on the toothpick is okay, the cake will continue to cook while resting.
Glaze
- In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, and 1 teaspoon each coconut flavoring, butter flavoring, rum extract, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Boil until the sugar has dissolved completely.
- spoon over HOT cake.Cool. Enjoy!
